The purpose of the poster was to promote the 4th Tour de France of the "Grand-mères automobiles" which was held from September 9 to 22, 1985.
The "Grand-Mères-Automobiles" were born in 1957 in Saint-Georges or rather in the free commune of La Chaise, a small hamlet on the communal territory.

Jean-Marie Pellerin, founder and president of the association imagined the concept of parodying the 24 Hours of Le Mans with old cars born between 1900 and 1939. The first "bolides" were given fancy names in mockery.

Later on, due to a certain success, the parody took a more classical form. A series of events with great spectacle, the 3 Hours of Contres, the Tour de France on the same course as the bicycle, then a Tour d'Europe des Grand-mères Automobiles".
