Before there was Air France, there was TAI—Transports Aériens Intercontinentaux—a private French airline based at Paris' Orly Airport. In the 1950s, it offered a modest number of international destinations, but by the 1960s, its reach was worldwide. The American Douglas DC-08 allowed for trips to such far-reaching locales as Sydney, Australia. And while we can't endorse hitchhiking koalas to cruise by tail fin, the image is certainly charming enough.

This original travel poster shows a smiling koala bear holding onto the tail of a DC-8; his luggage is resting on the tail wing. Below is a crystal blue beach with people sunbathing and swimming.
