Max Cowper 🏴(1860-1911) was a Dundee born painter. He was employed as an illustrator for the Dundee Courier before moving to London around 1901 to join the staff of the Illustrated London News. It represents a project of a London religious magazine whose front page is drawn by Max Cowper.
He was notably known for his illustrations of Sherlock Holmes.
