Poster of Air France finely printed in lithography on stone in 1934, representing a plane Breguet 393 T sedan.
It represents the city of Marrakech and the air links between France and North Africa including Morocco. The designer represents here the Koutoubia located between the Medina and the new city, in the distance the Atlas mountains give a horizon line. This lithograph bears the mark of the Guiraud-Rivière workshops with a particularly successful gradation of the sky. Maurice Guiraud-Rivière (1871-1947) was a French painter, illustrator and sculptor of the art deco period. Pioneer of the Air France posters he also realized posters for the railways of Morocco and positioned himself as an orientalist painter. This poster is one of the very first advertising achievements of the French airline.
