A very nice poster of a Carlist soldier made around 1935 by Arlaiz.
Carlism represents the Spanish legitimist political movement that emerged in the 1830s. It is a movement that claims the throne for the eldest branch of the Bourbons of Spain.
With a conservative and anti-liberal tendency, it is at the origin of three civil wars that set the Spanish 19th century ablaze and deeply marked the country.
Several current movements still claim to be his heirs (Carlist Party, Carlist Traditionalist Communion, Carloctavism, etc.), but their audience is extremely small.
