This Soviet poster was made in the context of the Cold War to support the independence of Angola. The world climate was then very tense.

There were many conflicts that opposed Portugal to independence rebellions from 1961 to 1975. This war resulted in the death of more than 50,000 people.
At the end of this conflict, Angola emancipated itself from colonialism and acquired its political independence.
