Isis Kischka founded, with the art critic Jean Cassou and the curator Yvon Bizardel, an association called "Salon des peintres témoins de leur temps". Their first exhibition took place in 1951 and included works by Henri Matisse, Georges Rouault, Raoul Dufy and Moïse Kisling. Kees (Cornelis) Theodorus Marie van Dongen (1877- 1956) was a French painter of Dutch origin, one of the main Fauvists after Henri Matisse, particularly renowned for his portraits of women with sensual forms.
