Jules Robin was born in 1815 under the name of André Jules Robin and in 1850, together with Edmond Jaulin, he founded the famous cognac house which was called Jules Robin.

Jules Robin made the company big and famous. At the end of the 19th century, it was the second largest in size (after Hennessy) and had a very good reputation.

Robin was very dependent on exports, especially to Asia, which made the company suffer a lot during the Second World War. In fact, it never recovered from this setback, which forced Hubert Germain-Robin to sell the company to Martell in 1964.

Jules Robin made some beautiful posters, like this one, which beautifully illustrates the links they had with other countries.
