Beautiful original poster of cycling for the 6 days race in Paris.
The six-day races are track cycling competitions, composed of a program mixing cycling events and entertainment. Various competitions pit teams of two riders (or exceptionally three) against each other for six days, including the American-style race ("Madison" for the Anglo-Saxons), which remains the main competition of the Six Days.
The competition was held until 1958 at the Vélodrome d'hiver in Paris, also called "Vel' d'Hiv'" in popular parlance. Ernest Hemingway, when he lived in Paris, often came to watch the Six Days.
