This map illustrated by Robert Louis represents the epic of the 1st Free French Division.
The 1st Free French Division (1re DFL) was the main unit of the Free French Forces (FFL) during the Second World War. A unit composed of Europeans and soldiers from the colonies, it was cited four times in the army order between 1942 and 1945, and is, along with the 3rd Algerian Infantry Division (3rd DIA), the most decorated French division of the Second World War.
