Military - 39-45 - France
Unity of the lands of France and the Empire - We see France in the shape of the stump of a cut oak, symbol of France destroyed by the defeat of 1940 and the Third Republic.
In the center of the stump is the badge of the French Legion of Combatants.
From this stock a promising young branch was reborn, that of the French State and the National Revolution.
Also note that France takes on the appearance of a plateau, reminiscent of the Gergovie plateau where the first part of the ceremony takes place.
The slogan "Unity of the lands of France and the Empire" directly refers to this phase of the day, where the lands are physically united in the monument to Vercingétorix and sealed together by Marshal Pétain.
