Beautiful poster from Alexander Calder's exhibition at the Sala Gaspar in 1973.

Alexander Calder 🇺🇸 (1898-1976) changed the course of modern art by developing an innovative method of sculpting, bending and twisting wire to create three-dimensional "drawings in space".
Resonating with the Futurists and Constructivists, as well as with the language of early non-objective painting, Calder's mobiles (a term coined by Marcel Duchamp in 1931 to describe his work) consist of abstract forms made of industrial materials - often poetic and graceful, sometimes boldly colored - that are suspended in a strange, perfect balance.
Later in his career, Calder devoted himself to the creation of monumental sculptures in bolted sheet steel, which continue to adorn public squares in cities around the world.
