This poster was produced for the "Grand Bazar des Halles et des Postes" stores, to mark the Etrennes.
The lower left-hand corner reads: "Les Maîtres de l'affiche Pl. 207. Imprimerie Chaix (Encres Lorilleux & Cie)".
The "Maîtres de l'Affiche" collection was published by the Chaix lithography workshop and directed by the great illustrator Jules Chéret.
It was a monthly publication featuring 4 lithographic plates. They represented the finest illustrated posters by major French and foreign artists.
All these plates are numbered and bear the Chaix workshop dry-stamp.
