After Egypt, he discovered the United States and particularly California, whose magnificent villas and swimming pools became a recurring subject in his work. David Hockney is one of the major figures of the pop art movement in the 60s but also of hyperrealism. His particularity is to use shimmering and very colorful colors. David Hockney is inspired by photography. His work translates this attraction by a striking realism.
