🚂 The Compagnie des chemins de fer du Midi was one of the former large private French railroad companies.
Its network served the part of southwest France between the Garonne River and the Pyrenees Mountains.
At the time, the French territory was divided between six major railways, the Compagnie du Midi being the only one without direct access to the capital. It was not until 1934 that the Compagnie du Midi, which at that time had a network of 4,300 km, merged its operations with those of the Compagnie du chemin de fer de Paris à Orléans (PO).
On this poster, you can admire the Pic du Ger which culminates at 2612 meters of altitude as well as the Aubisque pass (1710 m).
