Beautiful poster by Jules Chéret in 1895.
One of the many products promoted by Chéret's cheerful redhead was Quinquina Dubonnet, a fortified wine made from herbs mixed with quinine.
Jules Chéret, born in Paris on June 1, 1836, was the creator of the modern poster. He studied at the Petite École, the future École nationale des arts décoratifs, and then at the Beaux-arts de Paris. In 1866 he opened his first lithography workshop in Paris, where he produced hundreds of posters. From 1895, he executed monumental decorations in private homes and public buildings.
