The great hall of Bobino, a Parisian music hall where she had performed regularly in the 1920s, celebrates her 50 years of career. Josephine Baker was a French dancer, singer and actress of American origin. Her career took place mainly in Europe, particularly in her adopted France. She was the first black woman to star in a major motion picture, the 1927 silent film Siren of the Tropics, directed by Mario Nalpas and Henri Etiévant.
