Nice poster by Hugo d'Alésia for the Compagnie de Navigation mixte, the Touche company.

The Compagnie de Navigation Mixte is an old French shipping company active from 1850 to 1981, whose history is linked to the French colonies in North Africa.

Louis Arnaud, a shipping agent in Marseille, and the Touache brothers, bankers from Lyon, founded in December 1850 the Société Louis Arnaud, Touache Frères et compagnie, a limited partnership whose purpose was to "contribute to the development of relations between the Metropolis and the Colony, to bring them closer together [...] by reducing the duration of crossings as much as possible".

Frédéric Alexianu, known as F. Hugo d'Alesi, was a French painter and graphic designer of Romanian origin who produced a large number of tourist posters.
