Arthur Fages was a French painter born in Toulouse in 1902. After a first solo exhibition at the Chappe-Lautier gallery in Toulouse (1925), Arthur Fages attended the Julian academy in Paris, the Laurens fils workshop (1927) and participated in several salons (Autumn 1929, Independent, Tuileries 1932).
In the mid-1930s, he broadened his culture and enriched his vision of being and landscape by discovering Spain, Portugal, Italy, Hungary, Austria...
Between 1957 and 1967 he was decorated with the Arts and Letters and was also an officer of the Legion of Honor.
