This poster was created by Willy Manzini to promote the International Youth Film Festival.
It was Francis Legrand who organized the first "International Film Meetings for Young People" in 1959 with the aim of showing young people quality films and teaching them how to judge them.
The judging criteria are based on the richness of the content, the aesthetic quality, the human value, the universality and the attractiveness.
The jury is composed of equal parts of film professionals, young people and parents. About thirty countries take part in this Festival and a newspaper, entirely realized by the young people, relates each day summaries, debates, interviews... Training courses of cinematographic techniques supplement the initiation of the participants.
This poster shows the film "Islands and Atolls of the Pacific" by Marcel Talabot, an ethnographer, journalist and documentary film maker.
