The Devèze cave (or Palais de la Fileuse de verre) is located in the commune of Courniou in the Hérault, between Saint-Pons-de-Thomières and Labastide-Rouairoux.
In addition to the cave, the site hosts the first museum of #speleology.
The discovery of the cave dates back to 1886. It was during the construction of the Mazamet-Bédarieux railroad that crossed the town of Courniou that the first entrance to the cave was discovered.
The entrance, called the Gallery of Discovery, is located seven meters above the ground, in front of the old train station, now converted into a village hall.
