A splendid poster, which takes the work "Frölunda Hockey Player" made by Andy Warhol 🇺🇸 (1928 - 1987) in 1986 just before his death.
Andrew Warhola, known as Andy Warhol, is one of the main representatives of Pop Art.
Known worldwide for his work as a painter, music producer, author, but also for his avant-garde films, or for his links with intellectuals, Hollywood celebrities and rich aristocrats.
Although Warhol's work remains controversial, he has been the subject of numerous exhibitions, books, and films since his death. He is recognized as one of the greatest artists of the 20th century.
This poster, made in 1995 for the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, features one of Warhol's last works on the theme of field hockey: "Frölunda Hockey Player", in which he depicts Christer Kellgren, a skater from the Swedish club. Warhol was not necessarily a sports fan, but the status of the professional athlete in American culture was something he admired.
