This original 1973 French advertising poster was produced by O.G.E.P. for Walt Disney Productions. Created for Mother’s Day, it carries the affectionate message Bonne Fête Maman!, meaning “Happy Mother’s Day, Mum!”
Minnie Mouse occupies the centre of the composition, smiling bashfully as she receives a bouquet of flowers from Mickey Mouse, represented by his instantly recognisable white-gloved hand. Her oversized pink bow, green blouse and matching pink shoes give the scene a particularly charming and playful character.
The illustration is set against a brilliant yellow background, with the message displayed inside an enormous white speech bubble. Bold black outlines, flat areas of colour and Minnie’s expressive pose give the poster the immediate visual appeal of a classic Disney comic.
The lower section bears the special 1923–1973 emblem celebrating the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney Productions. The Disney copyright and O.G.E.P. Bagnolet imprint also appear along the margins, identifying it as an officially authorised French promotional poster.
