In Paris, he became famous by magnifying the actress Sarah Bernhardt, triumphant Desdemona of the Parisian theaters. His art, full of seduction, between illustration and poster, knows throughout the world a success which does not deny itself.

The "Mucha style" is all the rage, so much so that it is crowned with a silver medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition. However, the artist continued his career in the United States. He hoped to be recognized there as a painter, but it was still his talent as a poster artist that made his reputation.
