This original vintage poster celebrates Renault’s aviation success in the Coupe Dunlop, a prestigious aerial competition for light aircraft. Featuring a striking Art Deco design, the poster highlights the Bengali 120/140 CV engine, a four-cylinder inverted air-cooled engine developed by Renault at their Billancourt factory in Seine.

The event, which covered a 3,000 km circuit across Morocco and Algeria, saw pilot Gorlacher flying the Caudron Phalène to victory despite facing 24 competitors. The Coupe Dunlop was an important aviation event, reserved for private aircraft under 250 CV, focusing on flight regularity and speed performance. The winning average speed at the Biskra stage was an impressive 198 km/h.

Illustrated with a bold black and red color scheme, the poster features an aircraft in mid-flight, a detailed route map, and a technical drawing of the Bengali engine, reinforcing Renault’s role in pioneering aviation technology. This historical artifact is a rare piece of aviation and automotive history, showcasing the golden age of aeronautical competition and Renault’s engineering prowess in the early 20th century.
