Le Nouveau Détective is a French weekly crime magazine founded by Gaston Gallimard in 1928 under the original title Détective, and published today by Les Éditions Nuit et Jour.
Banned from sale to minors and from advertising, its publication halted and then resumed. After another name change to Qui? Police in 1979, the title took on its current name Le Nouveau Détective in 1982.
In the 1980s, a scandal broke out in Hollywood concerning a prostitution ring. This periodical chose to make it its front page.
