Beautiful gouache of the 50's for DOP.
The Berlingot DOP is a plastic packaging designed in 1951 to receive the Dopal shampoo from L'Oréal. It was first developed in 1933 for hairdressers, then made available to the general public in the form of the DOP Berlingot. This berlingot, designed by Vasarely, was made by Roland de la Poype.
Originally designed to be used as a sample, the DOP canister allowed L'Oréal to sell shampoo in individual doses and was manufactured for over 25 years. According to the inventor, "80 million doses were sold the second year" for L'Oréal.
